Authorization for Release Policy

Clapp Children's Center will release children ONLY to parents, legal guardians or persons designated by the parent or guardian on the Authorization for Release form provided at enrollment.

If a person on the Authorization for Release form will be picking up your child, staff must be notified verbally. These persons must present a photo ID at the time of pick up. NO CHILD WILL BE RELEASED TO ANYONE UNABLE TO PROVIDE PHOTO IDENTIFICATION!

Authorization for Release forms may be updated by parents and guardians at any time throughout their child's enrollment.

If a child is to be released to anyone NOT indicated on the Authorization for Release form, the parent/guardian must put it in writing the full name of the person to pick up the child, the date of the pick up and a parent/guardian signature. Verbal authorization is not sufficient. Photo identification must be presented at the time of pick up.

WE MUST BY LAW RELEASE A CHILD TO EITHER PARENT. If one parent has custody orders or restraining orders, the center requires a copy of current custody orders or restraining orders to be on file.

Parent/Guardian contact information and the names and phone numbers of the persons authorized to pick up your child in the event of an emergency are kept in the child's file and in a file box located in the kitchen areas at each site.

If there is ever a question regarding the release of a child, parents will be contacted by phone.

Any child transported by public transportation from Clapp Children's Center to another destination and then back to our center will have a Public Transportation Arrival and Departure Authorization Form completed. This form prepares the plan for safe arrival and departure and provides permission from the parent/guardian for the release of the child. Details will be provided by the parent/guardian on this form in regards to the routine trip.
